The dark elf that spotted Laios in the living paintings is actually the crazy master of this dungeon and uses ancient magic to summon mini dragon spawnlings to attack the group.
Meanwhile it’s uncovered that the Red Dragon was on a mission to find the king in the paintings,
and that the dragon’s soul is inside Falin who’s now under the control of the dark elf.
Turns out the entire dungeon and its monsters and ghasts were all part of the ancient civilization in the living paintings! It was right in front of us this whole time.
